Coming of Age
That smiling child
With the odd underbite
The unbridled hair
That husky voice
The short temper
Those cranky tantrums
The frivolous fussiness
The peculiar pickiness
These idiosyncrasies bloomed to form
the person i am now
I am still the same at heart
But at a different phase, a new start
For now I realise my part
And shall fulfil it
to leave my mark
Hello People!
I’m Jyotiraditya Sanand, an IBDP year 1 student who loves poetry, history, global politics, music and I am also a proponent of the Indic view. I plan to use this platform to write about my life, my views on political issues and share my poems. Right now as you are reading this, I am on a family vacation in Sydney, where I am really enjoying every moment.
I wrapped up 2022 musically with a mashup cover of two songs. Please find the cover attached here. With the last cover of 2022, I want to start 2023 poetically and hence why I am sharing this one, “Coming of Age” . This is a short poem I wrote. It talks about my transition as a person and how the physical changes in my body have transcended into my current personality.
This is me, the way I express myself.
Hope you enjoy reading it:) I’d love to hear your views.
See you soon;)
A wonderful poem to cherish the phases of your journey, keep writing more often! The magic of poetry is how it ushers the poet into an inner journey. Shine on, Jyotiraditya, we are so proud of you!
Delighted to read it…Good attempt…keep it going
